Dr Rachel F Farrar is a female Specialist Orthodontist.
Rachel graduated from Otago University in 2000. She worked several years at the Dental School and Dunedin Hospital and thoroughly enjoyed the exposure to trauma and oral surgery. Rachel spent 3 years working overseas in Australia and the UK which was a fabulous experience, a highlight was having the opportunity to accompany the Flying Doctors to remote communities in Far North Queensland.
Rachel and her husband Lloyd, also a Dentist, returned to NZ in 2005 and settled in Wellington for 5 years before moving to the Mount in 2010 to be nearer family.
Rachel enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry but for her the highlight of the job is without doubt meeting and helping such an interesting array of patients. Her relaxed and professional manner enables patients to actually enjoy going to the dentist.
She passionately educates patients about dental issues that are prevalent today such as cracked teeth, acid erosion, tooth wear and prevention of decay. She enjoys continuing education and has attended a large number courses in the fields of complex treatment planning and amalgam replacement options.
