Dr Paul M Scott is a male General Dentist.
Paul grew up in a family where good oral health was a priority and his father, John Scott was a respected dentist in Wellington.
Paul went to Otago to study dentistry in 1974 and graduated with BDS in 1978.
He worked in Hutt Hospital as a dental house surgeon in 1979 and then in 1980 spent a further year at Wellington Hospital. Paul then spent a year running his father’s Tawa surgery before he left to work overseas in the United Kingdom. Work and travel consumed the next 4 years and in late 1984 Paul and his wife, Mary-anne returned to New Zealand and purchased the Dental Practice from Peter Foote.
In 1989-1991 Paul completed a distance teaching post-graduate diploma in restorative dentistry through the School of Dentistry Otago, graduating with Distinction.
In 1992 Paul completed his Royal Australian College of Dental Surgery Fellowship in General Dentistry.
Paul then became the part-time Principal Dental Officer for the Hawkes Bay District Health Board for over ten years as well as running his full time dental practice.
In 1999 Paul became involved in work with the New Zealand Dental Association culminating in his presidency of the NZDA from 2005-2007.
Paul has also been involved with working parties for the Dental Council of New Zealand over the period from 2007-2014.
