Dr Kim M Tatham is a female General Dentist.
Kim graduated from the University of Otago in 1997 after growing up here in Piopio and attending high school in Hamilton. In the years since she has worked as a Dental House surgeon in Wellington and Lower Hutt Hospitals, taken up permanent positions in the UK with the National Health Service whilst also enjoying her OE and exploring the world. Since returning to New Zealand in 2005, she has been based in Te Awamutu working in private practice prior to opening Piopio Dental in 2017. During this time, she also held part time Dental Public Health Roles in Lakes DHB for Tipu Ora Oranga Niho and was the Public Health Dentist for the Lakes DHB School Dental Therapists.
She is a past president and current board member (since 2008), of the New Zealand Institute of Minimal Intervention Dentistry (NZIMID) and was formerly the New Zealand Dental Association’s(NZDA) Graduate Development Co-ordinator for Waikato/Bay of Plenty and a NZDA New Graduate Mentor. Since 2017, Kim and her team also co-ordinate a charitable dental conference in Piopio that brings dentists from all over the North Island to Piopio. She also presents at continuing education meetings and conferences in New Zealand. In 2019 Piopio Dental was also the winner of the Health and Well Being section of the NZI Rural Womens Business Awards.
