Dr John M Shennan is a male Specialist Orthodontist.
John graduated from Otago University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Dentistry. After graduation, he spent time at Lower Hutt Hospital, gaining valuable experience as a Dental House Surgeon.
John then went on to join the NZ Defence Force as a Dental Officer working across both the Army and Air Force before leaving for the UK where he practiced general dentistry in a cosmetic dental studio in Harley Street, London.
John then embarked on three years of full-time specialist training in Orthodontics at Cardiff University in Wales. During this time he gained a Masters degree and the Membership of Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
John worked in a number of Orthodontic practices in London before returning to New Zealand to set up North Shore Orthodontics in Takapuna in 2006.
John is currently involved in the Wish For a Smile Chariable Trust, which provides orthodontic treatment for those that could otherwise not afford it. He is part of a small team responsible for assessing the suitability of candidates for treatment, and volunteers his services to provide treatment for the successful candidates.
