Dr Clare E Thomson is a female General Dentist.
I first understood the value of a good dentist at a young age, after several accidents in my childhood resulted in broken teeth. The calm, gentle voice of my dentist, combined with the well mastered movements of his dental instruments, led me to trust him. This positive relationship made it straightforward to fix my teeth.
I have now been a dentist myself for almost two decades. I graduated from Dundee University in 2002, and completed a Postgraduate Diploma with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow three years later. I am experienced in providing a range of dental services, staying at the forefront of modern techniques and technologies through ongoing training. My practice has a strong focus on tooth structure conservation and I particularly enjoy using modern composite bonding techniques to restore teeth.
I joined Paremata Dental in January 2021. Prior to this I worked in private practice in Wellington since moving here in 2008. I have often worked with communities who face difficult circumstances. Working for Scotland’s NHS, as well as Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHBs, involved treating patients in hospitals, mental health facilities, and prison settings. These experiences have refined my abilities to work gently and patiently with people to overcome their anxieties.
As my patient, you can always expect me to listen closely to your needs. My patient-centric approach focuses on enabling you to understand your oral health needs and finding a treatment plan that feels right for you.
